What Literature Curriculum?

We’re too busy reading to fiddle around with a literature curriculum! Trust me, it’s not as crazy at it sounds.

Resolutions

wrth

I don’t have any true resolutions this year, just a very short, housewifey to-do list for 2012.

  • Draft and sew a button-up shirt
  • Crochet a bedspread
  • Reduce food budget by 20%
  • Attend church at least semi-regularly
  • Refinish patio furniture

Of course, I’d also like to lose 20 pounds, become fluent in ancient Greek, and earn a million dollars, but that’s more of a wish list than a to-do list at this point.

Happy New Year, everybody!

I want to lose 20 pounds too. I want to be fluent in my brain -- my brain keeps misplacing its data. Over the holidays I noticed with a mixture of delight and dismay that my brain is sharper than my intelligent older sisters' brains. They could be where I might be heading.

By drafting a shirt, are you making the pattern? I used to make my husband's work shirts, 5 shirts at time, but I didn't make the pattern. I had to make the shirt longer since he's a tall guy.

I think crocheted bedspreads are lovely. Have you chosen a pattern? I used to want to crochet lace curtains. I do not have any windows that would do that sort of task any Justice. All of my windows reek of Meh. Maybe if I lived in a stone manor with tall lovely windows that overlooked a garden, then maybe I would lean more toward thinking I would do it.

Crochet a BEDSPREAD? Good gravy. I can't believe the tablecloth didn't put you off crocheting altogether.

Let us in on the secret if you figure out how to cut 20% off your grocery bill. Inquiring minds would like to know.

Also, and no pressure here, but it seems like you forgot to add "blog sometimes" to that list. THE INTERNETS MISS YOU, MELANIE.

Happy New Year, Chickie.

"All of my windows reek of Meh." Donna, you're awesome. LOL My windows also reek of meh. I couldn't afford new curtains for this house, so all but one just have vertical blinds. I do want to make my own shirt pattern. But since I've never sewn a button up shirt, I'll have to make a few with a purchased pattern to get my bearings. They look kind of fiddly - I'm impressed that you made your husband's work shirts!

Deb, I don't know how I'll cut 20% off my grocery bill. I must have been high when I wrote that.

As your older, Lutheran mentor it makes me happy that you are thinking of attending church semi- regularly. :)
The grocery bill? Totally doable. But you may not want to do it when I give you my tips.
Crocheted bedspread? All I can hear is (cue Wayne's world) "I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!"
All in all a great list! Happy New Year, my friend!
